I am 14 and i want to be really muscular and brawlic but I don't want to stunt my growth by lifting heavy weights. I am 5'7" 125 pounds and I do have quite a lot of muscle but since i have a small frame i still look tiny. So how can i change that. And if i can change this by lifting weights how heavy should they be and how many reps should i do. I can easily do 90 btw. | "I don't want to stunt my growth by lifting heavy weights"
You don't stunt your weight by lifting heavy weights, you stunt your growth by getting injured by being an idiot (doing exercising improperly, trying to show off, increasing the weight too fast). If you are responsible and safe about this, you won't stunt your growth.
"I am 5'7" 125 pounds and I do have quite a lot of muscle"
No, you don't.
"i still look tiny"
That's because you are.
"I can easily do 90 btw."
lol wut? That's like saying "I'm good at math, I can do pi"
If you are serious about this, take a look at the programs below. I gained a lot of mass with stronglifts and recently switched to starting strength. Not because the program was bad, but because starting strength takes a bit less time at the gym. Starting Strength was actually designed with the pubescent teenager in mind. Check it out! | Quick ways to gain at least 10 lbs. for a muscular skinny teen guy with a really fast metabolism? I want to gain weight since I'm pretty skinny but have some muscle, am 145 now, want to get to at least 155-160 quickly | | Go to muscletec.com and look at there mass supplements some of the stuff there puts 5 pounds on u in a week and its A LOT cheaper then gnc and it says on u unlike gnc's... if u do cardio do less and eat 6 to 10 small meals aday with high protein and carbs | Muscular teen guys in Wisconsin - fact or fiction? My friend lives in Wisconsin, and she told me that the guys in Wisconsin area all tall and really muscular with bodies like from magazines. She said that the guys there do huge amounts of gym work at school, and the milk they feed them is special in Wisconsin, and it also makes muscles grow. Is there any truth in what she told me? | I'm from WI.
I don't know if it is true or not. I suppose it could be because it seems like high school football is a huge deal here. Most guys I went to high school with played at one point or another. | How can a scrawny teen get muscular/build muscle mass? I'm 16 years old weigh 115 pounds and am 5'5 tall. I have access to dumbbells a pull up bar treadmill ab rocket and whey protein. | | To be honest with you, you need a lot more, but your on a good start. Give your muscles atleast 24 hours to recover and take your whey protein after your workouts. also do push ups good for your chest. I would also workout at your gym at the highschool that way you can hit different body parts, or get a gym membership if you can. Remember weight lifting and getting bigger takes time and patience. Just stay with it and you will see improvement, best of luck to you! | How can a teen get muscular? Please help! At school I fell really uncomfortable. Im 13, and im
5'8 ( which is pretty tall) i am really skinny.I want to be bigger(not as in tallness) and muscular. I tried workouts but i dont have that much energy. Should i at the age of 13 take any vitamin pills or is there a workout that will help me?
Thanks alot everybody | Though 5'8 is tall at 13 lifting weights, supplements or a workout plan per se is a bad idea. This can cause huge issues physically now and later as this is a critical time.
Think aerobic sports not bulk. Soccer, bicycling, running or say martial arts. Much later when you do decide to beef up it will be much easier. And a heads up...... later in life the ladies will prefer a lean, fit and fast guy over a hugely bulked up guy. | How does a teen girl get muscular? I am a thirteen year old female teen. I am 5'7 and 107 lbs. I want abs really bad, and a hard hard body. But I don't know how to get it. Please help | for abs, a great thing to do is crunches. you can do them during commercials or something, and they go by fast. start by doing sets of ten, then 15, then 20, etc. there are a lot of variations on crunches, and I'm sure you can find them by searching the web.If you do at least 100 a day, you will have a six pack in no time.
Another thing for abs is something called a superman. lie on your belly and reach your arms in front of you. lift your legs(which should be completely extended) about 6 inches off the ground. start by doing sets of 15 seconds, then gradually increase the time up until about a minute or so.
for good calf muscles, try standing on the edge of a stair on the balls of your feet and lifting your body up and down. do as many as you can.
for arms, try doing push ups. do sets of 20 to start, and do about 100 total. also try chin-ups. you can just do like 20 a day. space them out at a minimum of 3 per set.
I hope this helps!
Make sure to hydrate and strech before, after and during excercise! you DON'T want to pull a muscle, and it helps you from feeling sore.
If these are too hard, just start with whatever you feel comfortable doing and slowly build up.
Good luck! | What is the most proven methods for a teen to be muscular, healthy, and smart? What should be eaten? When someone starts working out, what workouts should be done? How many times should the workouts be done? How long should they be done? How much sleep should be acquired to keep up with the fatigue? Also I have a list of priorities, what order should they go in? (this is after school)
Work
Working out
Homework
Spending Quality Time with family/Relaxing
I have a lot of questions there, thanks for your help. | Start with a healthy diet.
Replace all bread with whole grains. Add lots of vegtables and friuts to your diet, and meats that are high in protien (Tuna, Chicken, Turkey, Steak, Salmon, low fat Beef). You should take out unwanted sugars in your diet, no candys or soda. Try Drinking ONLY water, and lots of it. Eat small meals about every 3/4 hours. Make your big meal at lunch instead of dinner, and try not to eat 4 hours prior to bedtime.
Your work out should be 3-5 times a week for about an hour each time. You should start with 20 minutes of cardio. Try running or jogging. Then continue your work out with muscle strength training. Try by subsiting each day with a different body part, for example, I rotate doing Arms and Legs every other day. Your best bet would be to join a gym, use dumbells and machines. You can always contact the staff that can show you how to use the equipment and how many reps to do.
Since you developed a new work out plan, you will need the proper amount of sleep. 7 hours will always be good, try never to fall short of that.
Your prioities are really up to you. What is most important to you? To do a new work out plan, you might be sacraficing other things, But if its what you want then go for it.
I would always put school first. But its your schedule and you need to find what works for you. You could leave school, go to the gym, work out for 1 hour, go home do an hour of home work, eat dinner/spend quality time with the family and then go back to studying later in the night.
Hope some of this info helped. WWW.BODYFORLIFE.COM
is a great website that can help get your diet/work out plan started. GOOD LUCK! | Are my legs too muscular for a teen a girl ? i'm only 16 but since i'm 4, i'm very involved in gym, cheerleading, intense workouts ... that make my thighs and calves very big ! and it's all muscle, no fat : my legs feel very hard !
i want to know if other girls are in the same situation ! | | Nahh, you're fine. Just as long as you are doing natural exercise like running, jumping, swimming then it's fine. | Hi Im a teen looking for something to make me more muscular? Well, actually I am not really a teen (I'm almost 13, but close enough). I want to gain muscle weight and become stronger. I have a slight six-pack. Is it possible to get that more defined at this age? I'm looking for foods and at-home exercises because i dont have time for the gym. I have weights that my parents use that aren't too heavy for me (I can lift both 25 lb weights with one hand, but I think that's probably too heavy for a 12 year old.) | It's never to early to work out. It's just the fact is that are you an athelete? You do know that weight can stunt your growth. Cardio work out. Simply push ups, sit ups, and pull ups (your fingers outwards not inwards). If you want mass or muscles. To get big , you need high weights low reps. In your case law off those 2 25 lbs on one hand. You want to break your hand or get injuryed? I don't know your weight or your height. I say Peanut butter or any form of dairy will bulk you up. Eat small meals . Like 5 meal all total a day. Like every 3 hours. It's going to be tough. Carbs will get you fat too. Peanut butter, dairy, and any form of pasta or rice and that will get to you. Keep jogging and exercising. 30 mins tops a day. Do not over do it. Your metabolism will change too. It really sounds like you want to be an athelete. You will go to the bathroom more.To be honest your six pack sound like your either really healthy and eat really well and is on a strict diet or you just don't eat much. It sounds like your more skinny than real fit abs.
If you dont want to read above. Again I stress 5 meals a day.(small meals)
Eat lean meats (chicken)
pasta,rice, bread
dairy
This will get you big. Eat little meals. Split your settings. Honestly at your age you can eat what you want.
Excercise Cardio daily or 3-5 a week.
Alternate with pull ups /sit ups on day 1
push up/ sit ups on day 3
keep switching it. Don't forget your body needs to rest. Have a resting day. Good luck |
